Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Facility Operations Assistant 1 - Supply Management Services to perform routine warehouse tasks, break down and restock bulk inventory, and move stock to shelving.
You will verify inventory, rotate stock by expiration dates, process requisitions for hospital and off-site locations, and support daily cycle counts. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and a valid NY driver license.
At Stony Brook Medicine, a Facility Operations Assistant 1 - Supply Management Services performs a variety of routine manual tasks:
Required: Must be physically able to perform the duties assigned. Possession of a valid New York State drivers license may be required. The ability to read, write, speak and understand verbal communication at a basic level.
Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalency. Candidate must have a valid Powered Industrial Truck Operator Permit and minimum 5 years’ experience; Minimum five years’ experience and knowledge of warehouse inventory protocols. Recommended: Knowledge of Medical/Surgical inventory supplies, working knowledge of inventory reconciliation. Able to stand for long periods of time and capable of lifting over 50 lbs.
Note, this title was previously ‘Laborer’ and was changed by the NYS Department of Civil Service effective 9/13/2018.
This position will remain posted until filled or for a maximum of 90 days. An initial review of all applicants will occur two weeks from the posting date. The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $37,862 / year.
The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience.
