Job summary

MXI Partners is seeking a site leader for a mission-critical data center in Central Ohio. You will own uptime, safety, and reliability of power, cooling, and life-safety infrastructure, while guiding the on-site technical team and contractors.

You will manage vendor relationships, ensure audit-ready documentation, and drive a strong safety culture. This role requires extensive leadership experience in Tier III or hyperscale environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in critical facilities or mission-critical operations.
• 3+ years leading a site or operations team in a data center.
• Strong grounding in electrical and mechanical systems.
• Proven track record managing contractors, vendors and customers.

Job description

MXI Partners are supporting a fast-growing Data Center operator that is expanding their infrastructure presence in Central Ohio.

This is a site leadership role: you'll be accountable for the performance, safety, and reliability of a mission critical facility, and you'll be the person customers, vendors, and the regional team rely on.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

• Accountability for uptime, reliability, and service levels across all power, cooling, and life safety infrastructure.
• Lead, schedule, and develop the on-site contract technical team.
• Manage vendor and service partner relationships, holding them to a high standard.
• Act as the primary on-site contact for tenants, providing regular reporting and a high level of responsiveness to their needs.
• Own the site's maintenance strategy, operating procedures, and work order management. Keep documentation, drawings, and maintenance systems accurate and audit-ready.
• Champion a strong safety culture, keep the site compliant with codes and company standards, and lead the response to critical incidents.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 10+ years' experience in critical facilities or mission critical operations
• 3+ years leading a site or operations team in a Tier III, colocation, or hyperscale data center
• Solid technical grounding in electrical and mechanical systems, so you can lead technical teams credibly
• A track record of managing contractors, vendors, and customer relationships
• Organized and process-driven, with experience using CMMS, BMS, and incident/change management systems
• Comfortable sharing an on-call rotation for critical escalations
