Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is seeking a skilled trades technician to install, repair, replace, and inspect plumbing components to maintain heating, water, gas, and drainage across facilities. The role requires independence with limited supervision and strong safety discipline.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in a technical field and have 1 year of related experience with a degree, or 3 years without.

Qualifications

Associate degree in a technical field.
1 year of experience with an Associate's degree or 3 years of experience in lieu of one.

Responsibilities

Represents the department as a knowledge professional technician and updates work requests.
Understands and operates boiler, chiller, generator, med air and vac pumps, sprinkler system, fire alarm, and domestic systems.
Analyzes and fixes problems in building maintenance, including lighting, receptacles, and ballast replacements.
Orders proper parts for repairs after analyzing mechanical problems.
Fixes common plumbing issues like sinks, traps, valves and related components.
Repairs leaks above ceilings and other areas as needed.
Prioritizes work to manage time effectively.
Keeps tools organized and ensures material support for jobs.
Sets up work at least one day ahead for prompt start of shifts.
Keeps abreast of all tasks and responds promptly to work requests.
Completes work in line with Plant Operations priority system.
Uses appropriate PPE at all times.
