Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to install, repair, replace and inspect plumbing fixtures and related systems in a hospital environment. You will work with boiler/chiller/generator plants, med air and vac pumps, sprinkler and fire alarm systems, and domestic plumbing across facilities.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, ordering parts, documenting progress, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining PPE and tool organization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience with an associate degree or 3 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Proficient with trade tools and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Represents the department as a knowledge professional technician.
• Responds to service requests and updates progress to the originator.
• Documents work and time spent promptly and in detail.
• Understands boiler, chiller, generator, med air/vac, sprinklers, fire pump, fire alarm, and domestic systems.
• Troubleshoots and repairs lighting, receptacles, ballast, plumbing fixtures.
• Orders parts and prioritizes work per operational system.
• Maintains safety PPE and organizes tools and materials.
• Sets up work at least one day ahead to start promptly.
