Summary: The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the Trident Support Center office. This role will assume a variety of responsibilities, including building repairs, setup and or moving office furniture, and both internal and external building maintenance.

Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs)

Operates and maintains building equipment and systems.

Inspect all facilities on continuous basis, identify discrepancies, recommend future repair & maintenance projects and track life cycle of equipment.

Assists with preventive repairs and maintenance which can include kitchen equipment, appliances, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

Sets up, moves, and/or repairs a variety of office furniture.

Assists with building repairs, including minor wall patching, painting, receptacle replacements, door and hinge closer maintenance, and replacing lightbulbs/lamps.

Supports and escorts external maintenance technicians.

Receives deliveries and ensures the appropriate parties are notified; logs all outgoing freight.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $22to $26.

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

A minimum of one year of related experience.

General facility maintenance, carpentry, and electrical knowledge

Preferred education and experience

Previous experience working in a corporate office environment.

Work environment (includes travel/on-call):

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
