Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Kansas City is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to ensure facility safety and maintain building aesthetics. This is a part-time role with a hiring range of $20 to $22 per hour and a commitment to community engagement and support.

Qualifications

• Two years successful work experience in facility maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.).
• Able to relate and work with diverse groups of people.
• Must maintain a current motor vehicle license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment as needed and order maintenance supplies.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations.

The Facilities Technician will repair equipment as needed, order maintenance and housekeeping supplies, ensure equipment and facility safety, and maintain the building and grounds in a neat and attractive manner. This position may have responsibilities for more than one facility within the Association.

Hiring Range $20 - $22 per hour

• Assesses equipment and maintenance needs for assigned center(s)
• Performs maintenance activities or projects in a timely manner.
• Executes routine and preventative maintenance required to keep equipment in good operating condition.
• Performs routine audit to identify any safety concerns; corrects and/or reports problems promptly.
• Works with outside agencies such as OSHA, fire, health, building depts.., etc. to endure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
• Purchases maintenance and housekeeping supplies for the assigned facility.
• Manages work order system in accurate and timely manner.
• Responsible for responding quickly to emergency situations and concerns; may include evening and weekends.
• Assists with maintenance projects throughout the Association, as needed.
• May provide support to other facilities in the absence of the assigned Facilities Technician.
• Assist in Y fundraising activities and special events including the accomplishment of all departmental campaign goals.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years successful work experience in facility maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, housekeeping, pool maintenance, painting, etc).
• Able to relate and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Able to reflect a positive attitude.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must conduct themselves and carry out duties in a respectable, professional and responsible manner.
• Must maintain a current motor vehicle license and acceptable driving record that meets YMCA standards.
