Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform routine building and grounds maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, motor and bearing lubrication, mechanical maintenance, painting, general construction, and drywall repairs.
2. Implement preventative maintenance measures.
3. Familiar with industrial air compressor systems, compressed air distribution, process water chillers, cooling towers, fire suppression and alarm systems, HVAC systems, pumps, valves, motors, and fans.
4. Conduct daily visual and physical inspections of the facility and its equipment.
5. Maintain inventory of repair tools and supplies.
6. Operate equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and electric hand trucks; diagnose and perform routine maintenance on electric hand trucks (plus).
7. Supervise work from outside contractors and service providers like plumbers and electricians.
8. Assist in facility projects with EH&S and other departments as needed.
9. Manage time effectively and stay organized.
10. Respond promptly to emergencies, notify relevant personnel, and follow safety protocols including lock-out/tag-out (LOTO).
11. Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.
12. Operate various tools; experience with machine shop equipment (e.g., band saws, drill presses, welders, belt sanders, end mills) is a plus.
13. Work independently with minimal supervision.
14. Prioritize tasks and adhere to procedures and regulations.
15. Work overtime or different hours occasionally to complete repairs or projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
