Staffmark in Alexandria, MN is hiring a Facility Maintenance Technician for a 12-hour night shift on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. You’ll monitor boilers, troubleshoot, perform predictive and unscheduled maintenance, and keep facilities safe and compliant with GMP standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the boiler in a 24/7 environment on fixed or rotating schedule.
• Perform rounds of the mechanical room and air handling room to check equipment.
• Conduct unscheduled and preventive maintenance on building, facility, and production equipment.
• Handle general facility upkeep and repairs.
• Maintain inventory of supplies for facility maintenance.
• Monitor Process and Utility systems for reliable operations.
• Assist in developing SOPs and maintaining equipment history files.

Looking for Facility Maintenance Technician jobs in Alexandria where your technical skills keep equipment operating at its best? This opportunity allows you to troubleshoot problems, perform repairs, and help maintain the systems that keep production moving safely and efficiently.

Job Duties

• Properly monitor the facilities boiler in accordance with state regulations. This includes standing watch in a 24/7 environment on either a fixed or rotating schedule.
• Make rounds every two hours of the mechanical room and the air handling room, checking for any problems with the machinery.
• Perform unscheduled and preventive maintenance building and facility and production equipment.
• General facility upkeep such as repairing doors, walls, floors, ceilings, and other related building duties.
• Organizes and maintains inventory of all supplies needed for facility maintenance.
• Responsible for monitoring Process and Utility systems and equipment to ensure continuous efficient and reliable operations.
• Helps develop departmental standard operating procedures and maintains GMP and non-GMP equipment history files to develop preventative and predictive maintenance programs and procedures to reduce mechanical downtime and to ensure that breakdown and repairs are minimized.
• Comply with all Health and Safety programs adhering to all Quality Assurance System guidelines.
• Participates in off-hours emergency coverage, as needed.
• Performs scheduled and corrective maintenance of complex equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with quality system procedures related to the Facility equipment and general day to day operations.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid 1st Class Boiler License (Required)
• 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or utility systems
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
• Basic shop math skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrician's License
• High-pressure boiler experience
• HVAC system knowledge
• Food manufacturing experience
• Preventive maintenance experience

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand and walk throughout 12-hour shifts
• Occasionally sit
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed
• Work around moving machinery, boilers, and industrial equipment
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments
