Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance across the service center, shop, grounds and dock area, ensuring a safe environment and compliance with fire and safety codes. You will schedule work with vendors and oversee repairs, coordinating with in-house and third-party teams to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include coordinating facility projects, maintaining equipment, and upholding safety standards while supporting the maintenance team in daily

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, carpentry and plumbing skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Must be able to work alone or as a team member.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, vendors, etc.).
• PC experience and ability to use maintenance software programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair service center facility, shop, grounds and dock area.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and fire/safety codes for inspection pass.
• Act as liaison for facility maintenance needs among service center personnel.
• Conduct weekly facility, yard and fence walks for repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Perform basic drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, lighting and door repairs.
• Monitor fire sprinkler system and drain drip drums.
• Repair or replace dock doors, levelers and pallets jacks.
• Coordinate with vendors for repairs; oversee scopes of work and timely completion.
• Work with Facility Maintenance team on in-house and 3rd-party repairs; report issues.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies; perform other duties as required.
