Job summary

The Cobb County Sheriff's Office in Marietta, GA is hiring a Maintenance Technician I to join the Corrections maintenance team. This full-time, on-site role supports electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks in a correctional facility to keep the property safe, functional, and compliant.

Expect duties from lighting repair to equipment servicing, with after-hours on-call as needed. Strong multi-trade skills and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3-6 years of experience in repair and maintenance of commercial buildings and/or correctional facilities.
• Ability to perform at least two trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, or general maintenance.
• Fluent in English.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Electrical: lighting repair and maintenance of fixtures, ballasts, and circuit switches.
• Electrical: repair, replace and/or maintain 115V outlets and circuits.
• HVAC: operate HVAC systems and controls; change ventilation filters and lubricate motors.
• Plumbing: repair toilets, plumbing issues, clear drainage, and locate shut off valves.
• Carpentry: repair and assemble furniture; wall patching; tile work.
• General: complete work orders promptly and maintain clean, safe work areas; respond to on-call emergencies.
