Job summary

Cobb County School District is seeking a Maintenance Helper to support the Maintenance Services team on a variety of tasks and projects. This on-site position requires following directions from the maintenance trade personnel and performing assigned duties efficiently.

The role emphasizes regular attendance, safe operation of tools and equipment, and timely completion of paperwork for maintenance databases. On-call duties and physical activity are a component of the job.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or HSE required.
• Valid Georgia driver's license required.
• 1 year experience in facility maintenance preferred.
• Written and oral communication; electro-mechanical abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Takes direction from the assigned trade person and completes all assigned work timely.
• Promotes good relations and a positive image with customers and peers.
• Provides on-call availability 24/7 as required.
• Completes paperwork for maintenance database and meets state/local requirements.
• Maintains proper parts inventory on district vehicle and returns overages to inventory.
• Cares for vehicles, tools, and equipment; ensures maximum usage.
• Plans, stages, and completes cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and installation of equipment.
• Initiates and completes assigned projects in a timely and accurate manner.
• Reports safety issues to the administrator immediately.
• Fulfills other duties as assigned by administrator.
