Job summary

The Adjutant General's Office of the State of Indiana is seeking a facilities maintenance worker to manage the National Guard Armory in Warsaw. Duties include carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, and site upkeep to keep the facility inviting and functional for staff and the public.

A CDL is not required initially, but must be obtained within 90 days. The role emphasizes safe maintenance practices and coordination with Armory personnel for site improvements and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of carpentry, masonry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and perform simple math.
• Identify malfunctions in electrical/mechanical systems and perform repairs.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand schematics.
• Ability to install tiling, concrete finishing, plastering and tuck pointing.
• Willingness to travel with reasonable accommodations.
• Proficient use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Check and maintain heating, AC, kitchen, laundry, and equipment for efficiency.
• Install various fixtures and fittings as required.
• Inspect electrical appliances, motors, pumps, alarms, thermostats and door systems.
• Repair locks and provide secure facility operations.
• Assist skilled tradesperson on major projects.
• Attendance at assigned worksite is essential.
