Job summary

The State of Indiana, Adjutant General’s Office, is seeking a custodial smaller-lead role to maintain custodial care and basic repairs at the Hamilton County Armory. The position emphasizes safety, supervision of staff, and reliable daily operations across Indiana facilities.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of standard custodial practices, procedures and safety requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of operating custodial equipment and supplies.
• Strong understanding of Safety Data Sheets and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to supervise, motivate, and direct custodial staff.
• Proficiency in using power equipment and hand tools and performing routine maintenance checks.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their correct applications.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare progress reports.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in high-level offices and sensitive environments.
• Ability to follow procedures for handling biohazard materials and mold remediation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the use of custodial equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate daily workflow and meet short/long term goals.
• Provide supervision, guidance, training and support to custodial staff.
• Inspect tasks for quality assurance and completion.
• Complete maintenance reports and daily activity inspections.
• Ensure safe handling of biohazard materials and mold remediation procedures.
• Maintain inventory records and restock supplies as needed.
• Keep facilities clean, restocked, and sanitized as required.
• Attend assigned worksite(s) as part of daily responsibilities.
