Job summary

State of Indiana, within the Adjutant General’s Office, seeks a Facilities Director to oversee master planning, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities statewide. You will supervise teams across power, utilities, and building services, ensuring safety, compliance, and cost-effective operations.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects at National Guard sites while delivering reliable infrastructure for Hoosiers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 5+ years in operation and maintenance of steam-generating plants and related systems
• 4+ years supervisory experience in two or more areas such as power, water, or facilities maintenance

Responsibilities

• Direct the powerhouse operation: set priorities, plan maintenance, and oversee repairs for safe, efficient steam and water distribution.
• Supervise water treatment, sewage disposal, electrical systems, and climate control across facilities.
• Coordinate repairs, renovations, and new construction projects to improve facilities.
• Explain policy changes and new tools to staff; schedule deadlines and monitor progress.
• Develop training programs for trades and oversee preventive maintenance programs.
• Maintain records, prepare reports and budget justifications, and ensure OSHA safety standards.
