Job summary

Adult Correction is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Supervisor III (NS) to oversee the maintenance department at a 750-bed medium custody prison. The role supervises journey-level trades, an offender labor force, and a web-based work order system to deliver reliable facilities operations.

You will plan and assign work, conduct staff performance reviews, and ensure safety training, budgeting, and asset controls are in place.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial/industrial maintenance is required.
• Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and mechanical trades.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships in a diverse environment with knowledge of building, plumbing and electrical codes, environmental regulations, OSHA requirements, and MSDS information.
• Competent in understanding schematics, blueprints, and as-built drawings, and drafting technical drawings.
• Knowledge of project management, including estimating materials and costs for repair and construction.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, assign and monitor the work of the maintenance section.
• Supervise journey level staff and an offender labor force.
• Conduct performance appraisals and safety training (OSHA, equipment, and security).
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs and web-based work orders.
• Oversee fixed assets and tool control; coordinate with vendors and utility providers.
• Manage maintenance budget line items.
