Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Department of Corrections in Pewee Valley is seeking a Facility Maintenance Supervisor I to oversee grounds maintenance at the institution and assign work to inmate workers.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least three years of building/grounds maintenance or trades experience; on-call 24 hours and safety procedures apply. Salary is $38,854.56 annually, full-time with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Three years of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Identifies maintenance needs or repairs and performs basic repairs of plumbing, electrical, and other maintenance issues.
• Prioritizes and verifies completions of work orders.
• Requisitions maintenance tools and supplies and needed.
• Supervises and assists offenders in daily maintenance and repair tasks while maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
• Tracks assignment of tools and parts.
