The Facility Maintenance Supervisor oversees a team of thirty employees, ensuring efficient operations and maintenance within the terminal. Responsibilities include managing inventory, conducting repairs, attending meetings, and assisting with various facility projects, while acting as the point of contact in the Facility Manager's absence.
Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Oversee a team of thirty employees.
- Collaborate closely with the Facility Manager, Chief Engineer, Shift Leads, and Inventory Specialist.
- Act as the acting manager in the absence of the Facility Manager.
Inventory and Parts Management:- Order parts at the request of mechanics, with verification from Rob.
- Create and maintain inventory tracking systems.
- Assist the Inventory Specialist with various tasks and responsibilities.
- Manage uniforms, including requests, exchanges, complaints, inventory, and resizing.
Meeting Attendance and Reporting:- Attend various safety, facility, and operational meetings.
- Represent Rob in meetings when he is unavailable, ensuring good note-taking.
- Organize monthly meetings with shift leads and engineers to discuss terminal projects.
- Fabricate monthly reports based on CM and PM completion.
Maintenance and Repairs:- Repair broken THC thermostats (soldering, re-pinning, re-tracing, replacement of CO2 sensors).
- Repair small electronics (switches, sensors, tools) as requested by team members.
- Research and order miscellaneous and mislabeled parts.
- Inspect and repair roof leaks with Rob.
- Handle flood barrier issues and updates in procedures.
Facility Operations:- Escort people or vehicles within the terminal as requested.
- Assist with small IT issues.
- Drive to 663 Dowd Ave to pick up deliveries and bring them inside the terminal.
- Occasionally transport items to outside businesses (G1, NJ Door Works, Everlast).
- Assist teammates with ABM University trainings.
- Solve issues with Maximo iPads and update VPN access.
- Conduct safety briefings and collect signatures.
- Maintain up-to-date records of fire alarm triggers.
Technical Skills:- Read drawings to locate valves, pipes, access doors, and machinery.
- Trace piping through buildings.
- Determine causes of leaks in the absence of Rob.
- Introduce new employees to the terminal before handing them off to the shift lead.
- Occasionally assist Munich with random requests.
- Hang fire extinguishers as requested by Specialized Fire.
- Take messages for Rob when he is not in the office.
- Brainstorm ways to increase terminal efficiency.
- Review Maximo work orders for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure stock levels are maintained to service clients effectively.
- Order parts and materials while adhering to budget constraints.
- Create estimates for requested work, including materials and hours required.
- Provide escorts to third-party contractors as needed.
- Attend planning, safety, and project meetings.
- Perform additional assignments from the Facility Manager.
Compensation: $60,000 annual salary (US Dollars)
