Responsibilities
- Maintain continuity of facility operations in the absence of department management.
- Perform technical and skilled tasks related to maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Assist in various trades to install, repair, maintain, rebuild, inspect, and care for buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure safe and cost-effective operations.
Essential Functions
- Maintain operations in the absence of management.
- Conduct routine, periodic, and preventative maintenance, including inspections, servicing, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Inspect, test, and repair ADA door openers, access control, fire extinguishers, elevators, emergency generators, and fire pumps, maintaining logs.
- Perform electrical work such as changing bulbs, ballasts, LED conversions, and switches.
- Interior and exterior painting and preparation.
- Perform plumbing repairs on piping, valves, and drains.
- Maintain and repair furniture, shelving, doors, and locks.
- Assist with event setup and vendor activities.
- Manage work orders, prioritize, track, and communicate schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of maintenance technician experience in a school environment.
- Valid Florida driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days, with an acceptable driving record.
Desired Qualifications
- Five years of experience in institutional maintenance.
- Experience with Building Automation software, chiller operation, motors, pumps, VFD systems, welding, and cutting.

- Excellent communication, professional demeanor, and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Physical Ability Assessment
Contingent upon successful completion of a physical ability test.
Work Environment & Considerations
- Indoor and outdoor work, confined spaces, hazardous materials, and travel between campuses.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work with protective gear, and operate machinery.
Additional Information
This position is eligible for Veteran’s preference and requires residency in Florida at the time of hire. Background checks and fingerprinting are mandatory.
