Job summary

Bedford Wellness and Rehabilitation Center seeks a friendly Maintenance Assistant to help keep the facility sanitary, attractive, and safe. You will perform safety inspections, manage maintenance tasks, and support the Plant Supervisor or Operations Manager to ensure compliance and reliable operations.

This role requires a High School diploma and experience with maintenance procedures; prior long-term care exposure is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Knowledge of laundry/housekeeping/maintenance procedures.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in long-term care preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular, scheduled safety inspections.
• Follows Life Safety and Preventative Maintenance tasks in accordance with standards.
• Maintains logs/documentation and prepares schedules for maintenance tasks.
• Maintains electrical and mechanical equipment in good working order.
• Performs daily rounds and prioritizes work orders in the system.
