Job summary

U-Haul Holding Company is seeking a Facility Maintenance Helper to support maintenance across U-Haul facilities. The role involves hands-on work with various tools, performing installation, repairs, painting, and general upkeep to keep sites in good condition.

You will assist skilled workers, complete work requests promptly, and participate in ongoing U-Haul education programs. A valid driver’s license and legal work authorization in the U.S. are required; sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver''s license and clean driving record.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Effectively work with a variety of hand and power tools.
• Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
• Perform work requiring nailing, sawing, cutting, painting and basic facility maintenance.
• Perform clean-up duties at renovation sites.
• Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assists skilled workers in the performance of all duties when necessary.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Compensation Range: $20.75 to $22.75 Hourly

The Facility Maintenance Helper will assist in the facility maintenance of all U-Haul Moving Centers, Storage Centers and other U-Haul facilities within a geographical area.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles
• Adhere to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving.

Education/Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts or machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
