Job summary

Forward Health is seeking a Maintenance Associate to support upkeep, safety, and functionality of a residential treatment center. You will perform routine inspections, assist with repairs, handle work orders, and coordinate with vendors to keep spaces clean and safe for clients and staff.

Requirements include 1–3 years in maintenance or facilities, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license with access to a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement available).

Description

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for supporting the upkeep, safety, and overall functionality of company facilities within a residential treatment center environment. This role ensures that buildings, grounds, and equipment are properly maintained and contribute to a clean, safe, and supportive setting for clients and staff. The Maintenance Associate performs routine maintenance tasks, assists with repairs, and responds to service requests in a timely and professional manner.

Duties & Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Safety
  • Perform routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and common areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning.
  • Identify and report safety hazards; assist in resolving issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and structured environment conducive to recovery.
  • Support compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, fire safety).
Preventive Maintenance
  • Assist with preventive maintenance tasks for building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance activities to minimize disruptions to daily operations.
Repairs & Work Orders
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and complete assigned work orders.
  • Perform basic repairs, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general facility upkeep.
  • Assist with facility improvements, equipment installations, and minor renovation projects as needed.
Operational Support
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of rooms or spaces for meetings, activities, or programming.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance tasks and report any ongoing issues.
Vendor & Inventory Support
  • Assist with monitoring inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Support coordination with vendors and contractors as directed.
Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 1–3 years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or a related field preferred. Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or residential settings is a plus.

Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair/maintenance practices.

Education & Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or relevant technical certifications preferred.

Licensure Requirement: Valid driver’s license required. Must have personal Vehicle. Mileage Reimbursement available.

Core Competencies: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work independently. Must be able to communicate effectively and interact professionally with staff and residents

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform manual labor and use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Visual and auditory ability to identify safety hazards and respond to alarms or emergency situations.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
