Job summary

NHC is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring the facility is maintained safely and efficiently. The role involves rounds across maintenance zones, HVAC checks, and timely repairs to protect patients, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities include daily upkeep, safety compliance, and coordinating with other departments to minimize disruption to patient care. On-call availability and heavy lifting are required.

Qualifications

• Must have painting and drywall experience.
• Must have electrical and plumbing experience.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist with rounds to check maintenance zones for safety and quality, and report issues to theAdministrator.
• Check HVAC units on roof and in patient rooms, offices and other areas.
• Perform daily repairs as needed and coordinate with other departments to avoid interrupting patient care.
• Inspect storage rooms, work rooms, utility spaces and safety equipment for upkeep and compliance.
• Be on call for emergencies and assist with lifting/moving equipment as needed.
