• Starting pay rate from $35.70 - $42.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Job Summary: Facility Maintenance Technician

• Responsible for maintaining plant facility equipment, including building maintenance and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
• Complete daily facility maintenance activities, work orders, and enter data into the CMMS database.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Perform daily checklists as required for PEPS requirements.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on buildings, equipment, and systems.
• Diagnose issues, implement solutions, and prevent reoccurrence.
• Manipulate main utility shut-off valves and switches appropriately.
• Understand fire notification and detection systems; respond to alarms.
• Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
• Read system drawings and manuals; troubleshoot electrical and equipment issues.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment (e.g., ventilation systems).
• Conduct routine roof inspections and check safety systems.
• Monitor plant utilities and equipment, including dryers and crystallizers.
• Perform minor repairs and installations, garden/yard upkeep, and trash collection as needed.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks like replacing light bulbs.
• Collaborate with team members and report issues to supervisors.
• Follow all safety policies, including lockout/tag-out procedures, PPE, SDS, and fire protection systems.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements and skills:

• High School diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 1-2 years of facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of carpentry, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Basic plumbing skills (water heaters, faucets, flush valves).
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and email communication.
• Strong sense of urgency and follow-through.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull over 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb heights up to 60 feet.
• Work environment includes loud, humid, hot, dusty, and fume-filled conditions.
