• Starting pay rate from $35.70 - $42.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Job Summary: Facility Maintenance Technician

• Responsible for the upkeep of plant facility equipment, including building maintenance.
• Apply basic fixes to equipment and building systems; ensure facilities are tidy and functional.
• Maintain plant safety and housekeeping standards.
• Complete daily facility maintenance activities, work orders, and document in CMMS database.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Perform daily checklist as required for PEPS requirements.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on buildings, equipment, and systems.
• Diagnose problems, find solutions, and help implement measures to prevent recurrence.
• Understand and manipulate main utility shut-off valves and switches.
• Understand fire notification and detection systems; respond to alarms.
• Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
• Read and interpret system drawings and manuals.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g., ventilation).
• Conduct routine roof inspections.
• Check safety systems (e.g., fire alarms).
• Monitor plant utilities and equipment, including dryers and crystallizers.
• Perform minor repairs, install appliances, conduct yard upkeep, and replace light bulbs.
• Collaborate with co-workers and report issues to management.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements and skills:

• High School diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 1-2 years of facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of carpentry, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Basic plumbing skills.
• Proficiency in computer use, email, and basic software.
• Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Remain calm under pressure.
• Physical requirements: lift, push, and pull over 50 pounds; climb heights up to 60 feet; stand or sit for 8-12 hours.
• Work environment includes loud, humid, hot, dusty, and fume-filled conditions.
