Reporting directly to Business Unit Director (BUD), the Manager has overall responsibility and management of the Houston team, playing a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of Score Valves Services Inc. (Houston).
The incumbent provides high-level support to the BUD, ensuring efficient operation and communication.
This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
All work shall be carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, and work instructions. They shall provide technical support to the internal Sales and Production teams, and to other divisions within Score Group.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Lead the management team in developing product and service forecasts to support regional business growth through effective, ethical marketing strategies.
- Promote a strong client-focused culture across the organization.
- Drive ethical and effective marketing strategies that support long-term business development.
- Formulate strategic and operational objectives aligned with overall organizational goals.
- Manage strategic partnerships with key clients, ensuring alignment with their expectations and contractual obligations.
- Support the sales team in meeting revenue targets and establishing business priorities.
Financial Management & Business Performance
- Review financial data to identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Participate in monthly business performance review (BPR) meetings and evaluate profit and loss statements.
- Implement data-driven adjustments to ensure financial targets and operational objectives are achieved.
- Develop and manage an operations profit plan outlining income streams, cost structures, growth targets, productivity standards, profit margins, EBITDA targets, capital investments, and personnel requirements.
Operations & Production Management
- Monitor and supervise production or repair processes to ensure smooth operations and optimal outcomes.
- Track production key performance indicators (KPIs) to maintain high-quality, consistent output.
- Ensure operational processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee operational activities to ensure delivery commitments and quality standards are met.
Commercial Oversight & Contract Management
- Oversee and contribute to the preparation of tender bids and proposals.
- Review and approve client purchase orders, team-generated quotations, and supplier purchase orders to ensure accuracy and alignment with contractual requirements.
- Oversee approval of repair quotations and contractor time reports.
- Confirm order acknowledgements and ensure accuracy throughout the order management process.
- Lead, manage, and support the workforce by assigning responsibilities, establishing deadlines, and monitoring performance.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback to support professional development and career progression.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals, assess competencies, and identify training and development needs.
- Address disciplinary matters professionally and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Oversee approval of invoices, employee timesheets, expenses, and leave requests.
- Support investigations into accidents, incidents, non-conformances, and customer complaints.
- Assist in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions where required.
- Ensure continued compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and internal policies.
- Maintain ongoing competency assessments against established frameworks for relevant personnel.
Additional Duties
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the facility and achievement of business objectives.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field with equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in operations, manufacturing, repair, or industrial services environments.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven experience managing P&L responsibility and operational budgets.
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
- Experience managing client relationships, contracts, and commercial operations.
- Strong analytical and strategic decision‑making skills.
- Proven experience in a similar management role, preferable within a project-based or industrial setting or additional qualifications in a relevant field is a plus.
- Overall understanding of the global oil business including supply, trading, logistics and operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office suite of programs required.
