DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION






  1. Perform skilled carpentry work in the maintenance, repair, alteration andconstruction of buildings, facilities, structures and equipment; assurecompliance with building, health and safety codes, and standards. Construct,form, frame, finish, maintain and repair various items and woodwork such aspartitions, forms, cabinets, doors, shelving, fixtures, furniture, countertops,tables, decks, stairways, cases, scaffolding and fences; construct and maintainwalls, floors, ceilings and roofs as directed.

  2. Operate and maintain a variety ofcarpentry equipment including saws, shapers, routers, lathes, drills, grindersand various hand and power tools used in the trade.

  3. Prep interior and exterior surfaces for painting and wallpaper hanging; mix andapply paints, and other finishes using brushes, rollers and spray machines.Install and finish sheetrock and plastering as needed.

  4. Install, replace or repair flooring materials - wood, synthetic, roll goods,carpet, seamless floor, ceiling grid, cove base, wall treatments - paint, wallcovering, protective panels, edges, fasteners, and coatings.

  5. Plan, organize and lay out assigned tasks; draw rough sketches, plans andworking drawings of construction jobs; interpret plans, diagrams, blueprints,sketches, specifications, and work orders.

  6. Participate in department-wide projects and assist other trades workers withmaintenance and repair projects as directed.

  7. May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined indepartment documents




REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS







  • Four (4) years of experience at the journey level in one of the applicabletrades; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.




  • Personal driver license; class F or higher for Missouri residents.







PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS







  • Associates degree, vocational training, or apprenticeship.




  • Five (5) years of work experience in a healthcare or construction setting.




  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiringdepartment.
