Job summary

Mercy South Float Pool RN is a PRN role delivering patient care across multiple units using the nursing process. Flexible scheduling includes 12-hour shifts (7a-7p, 7p-7a) and 8-hour evening shifts (3p-11p).

This position offers growth across Orthopedics, Med/Surg, Telemetry, ICU, ED and Behavioral Health, with tiered shift differentials and comprehensive Mercy benefits. Minimum three shifts in a six-week period and onboarding hours may be added.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of bedside RN experience.
• Nursing degree from an accredited school.
• Current RN license in the state.
• BLS through the American Heart Association.
• Push, pull, and lift 50 pounds and prolonged standing per shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care across units using the nursing process.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
• Adhere to Mercy standards and ethics.

Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Professional Practice Model and nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patients care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patients' rights and confidentiality of patient information. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals of Mercy Health System, the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics, and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct. Competitive Pay with Tiered Differentials:

• Tier 3 (Med/Surg):+$5.00/hr
• Tier 2 (Stepdown):+$7.50/hr
• Tier 1 (ICU):+$10.00/hr

Additional Shift Differentials:

• Evening: +$2.75/hr
• Night: +$4.60/hr
• Weekend: +$1.50/hr

Qualifications:

• Experience:1–2 years of bedside RN experience
• Education:Nursing degree from an accredited school (BSN preferred)
• License:Current RN license in the state
• Certifications: BLS through the American Heart Association
• Physical requirements/demands:
  • Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Prolonged standing and walking each shift
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
