Job description

Overview

The Project Manager, Facilities will assist departmental leadership in day-to-day management and oversight of departmental operations and/or organizational capital improvement projects. This staff member will identify needs; research, obtain, compile, and analyze data; develop plans and designs; implement solutions to aid efficient operations and growth; coordinate with external consultants and contractors; and may work to renovate, modernize or build new facilities. This position works with budgets and is involved in the departmental grant preparation and development process, including tasking, tracking objectives and meeting time‑sensitive deadlines. The Project Manager, Facilities may be expected to work outside of standard working hours as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the life cycle of each phase of construction projects, remodels, and other special project to include requirements, design, implementation, acceptance and closeout.
  • Develop and design feasibility studies for review and prepare various contracts, request for proposals, and reports.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors providing contract services during project execution to ensure that requirements are accomplished on time, to the specified quality, and within budget.
  • Complete building and property condition assessments, and design repairs to existing building envelope components including roofs, curtain walls, masonry, EIFS, and pre‑cast concrete.
  • Supervise and manage Environment of Care requirements to include, but not be limited to, preventative maintenance, equipment testing, system testing, and life safety documentation.
  • Lead and support team efforts in the execution of projects to ensure performance goals and expectations are met and are on time.
  • Review purchase requisitions and determine the most effective and efficient methods of purchase. Ensure requisition is within authorized allowance and meets all criteria established by funding agencies and policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and negotiate all long‑term contracts on Institute needs and market trends.
Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, Construction Management, Materials, Property Management, Business Administration, Mechanical or related field is required. Four years of experience in construction, project management, facilities management, or other related fields can be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree with a High School degree or GED.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in facilities, consulting, and the management of building envelope projects is required. Experience working in commercial or healthcare environments is preferred.

Pay Range

Minimum pay range: USD $64,501.01 per year.

Maximum pay range: USD $114,089.46 per year.
