About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support facility engineering, capital projects, and manufacturing operations at a large production facility. This role will manage low- to mid-level facilities projects, coordinate subcontractors, support safety and environmental initiatives, and help ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Project Engineer for low- to mid-level facilities and construction projects.
- Develop project requirements and write purchase requisitions for facility equipment, services, and projects.
- Manage subcontracted construction projects across multiple disciplines, including demolition, electrical, mechanical, structural, carpentry, painting, flooring, furniture, and related services.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, including reviewing requested work, issuing work orders, inspecting completed work, and approving payments.
- Support services including general construction, vehicle repair, rigging and millwright work, crane maintenance, and other facility services.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal customers to resolve technical problems of low to moderate complexity.
- Support safety and environmental objectives through policy compliance, area audits, issue resolution, risk reduction activities, and sustainability improvement projects.
- Ensure expenses are charged to the appropriate cost centers and account assignments.
- Support development and management of project schedules and budgets.
- Assist with the development of the annual facilities budget for assigned work efforts.
- Review project documentation, including bids, statements of work, and project authorizations.
- Coordinate and oversee activities throughout all phases of the project lifecycle for facilities-related construction projects.
- Submit purchase order requisitions using Oracle-based software.
- Proactively maintain a safe working environment.
- Promote a culture focused on safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by department leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a technical discipline, or a related field with approximately 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Experience supporting defense or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Experience with manufacturing database or enterprise systems such as Oracle.
- Experience supporting facilities construction, maintenance, or capital improvement projects.
