Job summary

Secant Group in Telford, PA is seeking an entry-level Facility Engineer I to support facility improvements under guidance from a senior engineer.

You will learn building systems, assist with smaller projects, update documentation, and collaborate with technicians while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance; occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Experience in a regulated environment preferred; ISO13485 or 21CFR820 exposure is a plus.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and CMMS systems
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic data management
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Learns the Building Automation Systems, HVAC, Security, Access Control, and other building systems including modifications, enhancements, programming review and upgrades.
• Supports facility engineering improvement activities and manages smaller facility projects.
• Evaluates risk and recommends engineered solutions to mitigate risk from facility shutdowns, failures, non-compliance, and under performance.
• Reviews, updates, and/or creates PMs for facility systems including HVAC, air compressors, electrical distribution, process gases, and process waters systems.
• Ensures all documentation for assigned facility projects is available for maintenance technicians and backed up on network drives.
• Under the direction of a senior engineer, creates and updates schematics, P&ID’s, and maintains facility documentation using AutoCAD.
• Collaborates with engineers by providing technical review of new equipment; fosters collaboration with technicians and other departments.
• Follows all applicable SOPs and safety guidelines; seeks feedback to improve performance.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed; assists with calibrations and maintenance system improvements.

Description

What we are looking for:

The Facility Engineer I position is an entry level technical position that supports facility improvements and projects. The position will support larger projects with guidance from a senior engineer. The position will learn facility systems and engineering processes to improve facility performance, compliance, and operating costs. The position may oversee the work of contractors and internal maintenance crews. The position will provide a senior engineer with project updates and advise on impacts to quality, schedule, and costs.

What you will do:

• Learns the Building Automation Systems, HVAC, Security, Access Control, and other building systems including modifications, enhancements, programming review and upgrades.
• Supports facility engineering improvement activities and manages smaller facility projects.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related
• 0-3 years’ related experience preferred
• Experience in a regulated environment preferred; Facility engineering experiences in an ISO13485 or 21CFR820 regulated environment is a strong plus.
• Experience with manufacturing support, facility commissioning, and FDA validation requirements preferred
• Familiarity with AutoCAD
• Moderate MS-office product skills and proficiency in using CMMS.
• Must demonstrate a strong sense of safety awareness
• Willingness to accept change, learn, and work with new technology
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional time management
• Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop effective relationships with others and work in a team environment
• Ability to manage a technical project, understanding the clients’ needs, how the needs relate to the scope of the project and how changes will affect other systems.
