Job summary

Compunnel Inc. is seeking a Facility Engineer II to support the York, PA manufacturing plant by managing facilities projects and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

The role reports to the CMS Facility Engineering Manager and supports the local Facility Manager, focusing on capital planning and execution with safety, quality, schedule, and cost in mind. The position operates on a 9/80 schedule (7:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, with every other Friday off).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical discipline plus 4 years of related experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project engineer for low- to mid-level scope projects.
  • Specify requirements and prepare purchase requisitions for facility items, services, and projects.
  • Manage subcontracted construction projects across disciplines including demolition, electrical, mechanical, structural, carpentry, painting, and furniture.
  • Oversee subcontractors by reviewing work requests, writing work orders, inspecting work, and approving payments.
  • Develop customer relationships to solve technical problems of low to moderate complexity.
  • Support safety and environmental objectives through audits, risk reduction, and sustainability projects.
  • Manage financial responsibilities including cost center assignments, budget adherence, and annual facilities budget development.
  • Review project documentation such as bids, statements of work, and authorizations.
  • Coordinate project activities across all phases of the project cycle.
  • Submit purchase requisitions through Oracle software.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical discipline, plus 4 years of related experience (or equivalent combination).
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Defense manufacturing environment experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD software.
  • Experience with manufacturing database software such as Oracle.
Certifications
  • None required; AutoCAD or Oracle training preferred.
