Qualifications

Job description

Join to apply for the Facility Engineer role at Neiman Marcus.

Schedule: Tuesday to Friday, 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM.

Your Role

You will provide technical expertise to support the Operations and Maintenance teams in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will also have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment.

Additionally, you will develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, responding to support requests, and advocating for NMG's Way of Working, which emphasizes working smarter, being present, and integrating work and life.

What You’ll Do
  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and plumbing.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships across the Operations facility.
  • Track and facilitate department inventory.
  • Move objects weighing up to 50lbs, with tasks involving bending, lifting, reaching, and pushing/pulling wheeled dollies up to 100 pounds.
  • Work shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodations.
What You Bring
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • Experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance.
  • Experience repairing material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work in noisy distribution environments and potentially on rooftop equipment in extreme temperatures.
  • Experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, being a self-starter.
  • Multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Understanding of SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
  • Background in conveyor and forklift operation and repair is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s or higher degree in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
  • Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Basic troubleshooting of input/output functions.
  • Basic HVAC knowledge is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to reach above head, kneel, squat, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work wearing masks, face shields, and safety boots.
  • Perform tasks involving crouching, reaching, and moving between departments, possibly walking 6-12 miles daily.
  • Work in environments with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Type on a computer or stand at a desk for 1-2 hours daily.
