Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a seasoned leader to direct the Coding & HIM Support team in Aurora. The role focuses on audits, coding accuracy, and ensuring compliant billing practices in a high-volume environment.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in professional coding with ICD, CPT, HCPCS and 1 year in a leadership role, plus AHIMA/AAPC certification and strong communication capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• 5 years of professional coding experience including ICD, CPT and HCPCS.
• 1 year of progressive leadership experience in a health care setting.
• Coder certification by AAPC or AHIMA.

Responsibilities

• Supervises review and validation of charges/codes for billing accuracy.
• Directs teams conducting audits of coding practices and documentation.
• Ensures compliance with coding regulations and ethical guidelines.
• Maintains knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and payer guidelines.
