Estimated Pay Range: $26.40 - $44.00 / hour, based on location, education, and experience.

This is a fully remote position available in specific states. The hours are flexible, typically any 8-hour window between 7 am and 7 pm, with a focus on productivity.
The role involves coding high-complexity inpatient services across various service lines, including Trauma, ICU, Cardiac, Transplant, Orthopedics, High-Risk OB, NICU, among others. Candidates should have at least 5 years of inpatient coding experience in an acute care facility, with certifications such as CCS, COC, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA.
Responsibilities include analyzing medical records, accurately coding diagnoses and procedures using ICD CM and PCS, abstracting clinical data, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and mentoring less experienced staff. The position requires proficiency in ICD-10-PCS coding and experience with MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignments.
Banner provides training and support, including equipment, and emphasizes quality and accuracy in coding. A coding assessment is required post-interview.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant medical coding certification, and extensive inpatient coding experience. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree or equivalent experience, and experience in large healthcare organizations.
