Job summary

Sylvania in Swartz Creek, Michigan is seeking a dependable custodian to join our facilities team. Report to the Team Lead/Custodian Supervisor and perform cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping to maintain a clean and safe environment.

You will operate floor equipment (Auto Scrubber, carpet extractor, vacuum), stock restrooms and break areas, and assist with event setups. Light maintenance and door security tasks may be required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of custodial/Janitorial experience
• Must pass a drug test and a physical
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 40 pounds

Responsibilities

• Dusting, Vacuuming, Sweeping/Mopping
• Operate floor equipment such as the Auto Scrubber, side by side, Carpet extractor, and vacuum
• Empty trash receptacles
• General cleaning of furniture, windows, window sill,s and walls
• Stocking restrooms, the janitorial closet, and the breakroom
• Setting up and cleaning after events
• Light building maintenance
• General snow removal/Lawn care as needed
• Arm alarm/Check all outer doors to make sure secure
• Help cover areas when short staffed
