Job summary

City of Phenix City is seeking a Custodian to visually inspect facilities, perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, and support the Center operations. The role requires attention to cleanliness, ability to follow supervisor instructions, and teamwork with Center staff.

Responsibilities include restroom cleanliness, floor care, trash handling, and ensuring outdoor areas are debris-free. A high school education is required, along with valid state ID and basic equipment operation skills.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent training and experience.
• Valid Identification from State of Residence.
• Ability to work under immediate supervision and as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects restrooms to ensure area is clean and orderly; restocks supplies.
• Sweeps floors and mops with sanitizing solution.
• Empties all trash receptacles and replaces trash bags for facility including kitchen.
• Vacuums, dusts, mops, waxes and buffs floors as needed.
• Cleans carpets in all areas when necessary.
• Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms when requested by Coordinator.
• Makes sure that paper and debris is picked up outside building.
