Job summary

East County R Library in Lehigh Acres, FL, is looking for a dependable Cleaner to perform daily cleaning tasks including mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting surfaces and restroom maintenance. The role supports a safe, healthy facility and requires attention to detail and reliable performance.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and prior cleaning experience. The position is on-site, with responsibilities across restrooms, lobbies, and common areas, following safety procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a Cleaner or Janitor preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
• Ability to perform general cleaning tasks and maintain restrooms.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to follow routines and safety procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash and recycling, replace liners, keep receptacles clean.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and work areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors along assigned routes.
• Inspect areas for items of value and report findings.
• Report mechanical or electrical issues to supervisor.
• Move cleaning carts safely and follow cleaning sequence.
• Vacuum and mop elevator lobbies, hallways, and common areas.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good order.
• Follow all safety and company procedures.
