Job summary

Palatine Park District is seeking a Facility Attendant to support operations at the Community Center, Falcon Park, and Birchwood Recreation Center. This IMRF position handles cleaning, setup, takedown, and customer service, while enforcing facility rules and ensuring security.

Part-time role (~25 hours/week) with evening and weekend shifts; pay range is $16–$17.25 per hour. Benefits include pool passes, fitness center membership, and access to in-house programs, plus discounts at Cutting Hall

Qualifications

• 1-2 years working experience in facility maintenance preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class D Driver's License.
• Ability to maintain positive customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and set up/take down rooms as needed.
• Provide customer service and enforce facility rules.
• Ensure the security of the facility while on duty.
• Clean outdoor restrooms during the outdoor season.
• Serve as lead custodial staff during events and guide others.

Job description

Palatine Park District is hiring a Facility Attendant IMRF positions at our various facilities, including the Community Center, Falcon Park, and Birchwood Recreation Center. The Facility Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, setting up and taking down rooms, providing customer service, enforcing facility rules and regulations, and ensuring the security of the facility. Additionally, this position will involve cleaning outdoor restrooms at various facilities during the outdoor season. The Facility Attendant may also be required to work during special events. While on duty, this role will serve as the lead custodial staff, ensuring that other Facility Attendants complete their setup, takedown, and cleaning duties.

• 1-2 years working experience in facility maintenance preferred
• Must be 18 Years of Age
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Previous custodial experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Class "D" Driver's License
• Ability to maintain positive customer service while adjusting to a fast-paced, quick-changing and demanding environment
