Job summary

Park District Of Oak Park is seeking a Special Facilities Maintenance Worker - IMRF for a part-time role at Ridgeland Common Recreation Complex. The position involves cleaning and maintaining pools, ice arena, dog parks, and gymnastics facilities, ensuring facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming for patrons.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, be able to swim, perform preventative maintenance, and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to swim.
• Experience with preventative maintenance, painting, pools and grounds preferred.
• Knowledge of small pumps and other gas powered equipment.
• Safe and correct use of power tools.
• Highly motivated and able to assume a positive and active role, even under stress.
• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work with, and direct, other staff.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certification within 1 month of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning around the facility including bathrooms, common areas, concessions, locker rooms, pools, decks and bleachers.
• Safely operate pool filtration system, pool vacuums, ice edger, snow blower and related equipment.
• Maintenance and repair tasks including painting, ice maintenance, landscaping.
• Seasonal facility tasks, pool cleaning, plumbing setup, chair repair, ice painting, snow removal.
• Assist with facility operation by responding to customer questions, comments and concerns.
• Complete reports, inspections, checklists and other paperwork related to responsibilities.
• Enforce Park District procedures and safety rules.
• Wear PDOP staff shirt and identification during all work hours.
