Stilly Valley Center in Arlington, WA is looking for a dedicated and capable Facilities Assistant to help keep our senior center running safely, smoothly, and welcomingly. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of older adults in our community every single day.
Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, experience with facilities maintenance and event coordination, and excellent time management skills. You will assist with daily operations, ensure inventory availability, help maintain all equipment, and report to the Executive Director.
The Facilities Assistant ensures the daily operations of a building or site run safely and efficiently. Responsibilities span hands-on maintenance, member service, and administrative tasks, including assisting the event planner with building walkthroughs, space setups, vendor coordination, and general upkeep.
The Facilities Assistant is responsible for general maintenance and repairs of the facilities; arranging room setup for classes, programs, groups, and event rentals on a daily basis, including some weekends; janitorial assistance; and the overall good repair and safety of the facilities. This position may also assist the Executive Director in the evaluation, contracting, and management of trades contractors for more advanced maintenance and repair initiatives.
The role is broadly categorized into three main areas of responsibility.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities of paid staff; however, supervision of volunteers may apply at times, overseeing the Food Room.

This is a physically demanding position. You must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift items throughout a standard shift, including standing for extended periods.
The job is performed in a temperature regulated environment with a moderate noise level. Some work outside in varying climatic conditions may be required.
