Position Summary:

We're looking for a Facilities & Security Manager to lead the charge in keeping our Glendale, AZ location running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. In this pivotal role, you'll be the go-to expert for all things facility-related-from overseeing daily operations, maintenance, and vendor relationships to implementing proactive security measures that keep our people and property protected.

You'll manage both the physical space and the safety of our operations, ensuring everything from HVAC systems to access control runs like clockwork. Duties & Responsibilities

Facility Management:

  • Oversee daily facility operations, including maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and other essential services.
  • Manage vendor relationships for facility-related services such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and janitorial services.
  • Plan and coordinate facility improvement projects, renovations, or expansions.
  • Monitor and manage budgets related to facility management and security.
  • Ensure the facility meets health, safety, and environmental standards, and is in compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain records of equipment, inspections, and repairs.

Security Management:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures.
  • Supervise security personnel and ensure they are trained and equipped to handle security operations.
  • Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
  • Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Respond to emergencies, such as security breaches or facility-related issues, and lead the crisis management team during such events.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in facility maintenance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Proven experience in facility management and security operations.
  • Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and record-keeping software (e.g., CMMS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team and work with other departments.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Certification in Facility Management (e.g., IFMA) or Security Management (e.g., CPP, PSP).
  • Experience with emergency response and crisis management.
  • Proficiency in project management and budgeting
  • Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems.
  • Experience with energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS).
  • Understanding of OSHA and other safety regulations related to facility maintenance.

Location:

  • Glendale, AZ – Onsite, No Remote or Hybrid Schedule

Language:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Physical Demands:

  • 100% on the shop floor. Unical’s shop floor is different – facility less than 2 years old! A/C, bright, clean, beautiful. (warehouse and aviation repair shop)
  • Standing for long periods, Carrying, Bending, Walking, Pushing, Climbing, Reaching

Working Conditions:

  • The role may involve working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies, which may require after-hours availability.
  • Physical requirements include lifting, bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces
