Job summary

Hgen is seeking a hands-on Facilities Operations Lead to own the combined office, lab, and manufacturing site in Hawthorne, CA. You will drive safety, reliability, and operational excellence across the campus while coordinating with contractors and production teams.

Responsibilities include managing deliveries and inventory, developing SOPs, planning build-outs for R&D and scale, and ensuring traceability in our systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in facilities management, warehouse or logistics in energy/industrial environments.
• Familiar with ERP/MES/QMS/CMMS and Jira.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on-site in Hawthorne, CA.
• Experience scaling early-stage startups to systematic operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end operations of office, lab, and manufacturing facility with safety and reliability.
• Identify and resolve facility and process issues, coordinating with contractors.
• Plan and coordinate facility build-outs to support R&D, engineering, and production.
• Receive, route, and document deliveries; maintain inventory traceability.
• Develop SOPs for facility maintenance and inventory operations.
• Operate forklifts (5–15k lb) and ensure OSHA compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end operations of our combined office, lab, and manufacturing facility, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational excellence
• Identify, anticipate, and resolve facility related issues and improvement opportunities, engaging with contractors as necessary
• Plan and coordinate facility build-outs to support evolving R&D, engineering, and production demands as we scale
• Receive incoming deliveries and routing to inventory locations, ensuring documentation and traceability are maintained with our systems
• Retrieve and package inventory into traceable kits for production teams
• Develop the standard operating procedures for facility maintenance and inventory operations
• Manage the generation, delivery, and/or waste of production commodities (compressed gasses, DI water, industrial fluids)
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in facilities management, warehouse operations, logistics, or similar roles in energy, industrial, aerospace, defense, or similar production environment
• Familiarity with facility, supply chain, inventory, quality management processes and the systems used to support them (ERP, MES, QMS, CMMS, Jira, etc…)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Able to work on-site in Hawthorne, CA
• Experience in developing early-stage startups from limited procedures to systematic operations
• Ability to safely operate forklifts (5-15k lb) with non-standard loads
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA, ADA, safety systems, and regulatory requirements
