Job summary

NES Fircroft in Alaska is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to operate, troubleshoot, test and perform mechanical repairs on production and heavy equipment, including gas turbines, compressors, separators, treaters, pumps, and transmission gear.

You will collaborate with the operations team, instrument techs and electricians on a variety of projects, perform routine PMs, participate in site modifications, and maintain safety records while working a 2-week on/2-week off remote field

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of facility maintenance experience in oil and gas.
• Knowledge of production equipment and safety procedures.
• Ability to work in a remote field with a 2-week on/2-week off schedule.

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, test, and perform mechanical repairs on production equipment in a safe, economical, and environmentally sound manner.
• Work closely with operations, instrument techs and electricians on maintenance projects.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and roll-over PMs on pumps and equipment in standby.
• Identify improvement opportunities and communicate solutions to the Lead Operator.
• Participate in facility and drill site modifications and other assigned duties.
• Assist in resolving technical problems and safety issues.
• Maintain safety and environmental records and participate in required trainings.

Job description

• Operate, troubleshoot, test, and perform mechanical repairs or maintenance tasks on production equipment, heavy equipment, all rolling stock, etc. in a safe, economic, and environmentally sound manner without supervision. Production equipment can include gas turbines, reciprocating compressors, gas dehydration systems, three phase separators, treaters, transmission equipment and pumps.
• Work closely with operations team, instrument techs and electricians on a variety of maintenance projects at the WMRU and KPF locations.
• Perform routine PM work on all equipment and maintain equipment readiness.
• Perform roll over PMs on pumps and equipment in standby.
• Identifies opportunities for improvements in production equipment and communicates solutions to the Lead Operator.
• Participating in facility and/or drill site modifications and special projects as needed or perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Operator.
• Assisting in the resolution of technical problems and safety issues.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience with facility maintenance in the oil and gas industry.
• Ability to work a 2-week on and 2-week off schedule in a remote field.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

• Maintain an excellent personal safety and environmental record and competently perform daily functions to ensure safe practices and environmental compliance in accordance with Oil & Gas policies.
• Responsible for participating in all safety training and assisting in safety procedures such as basic first aid, CPR, fire drills, spill response and emergency evacuation.
• Meeting and keeping current with required operator certifications, regulatory training and compliance requirements.

Communication

• Maintaining operational accountability and keeping the KPF and WMRU Operators and Lead Operator updated on the operational status of the assigned area.
• Notifying Lead Operator of complex maintenance issues that require corrective action.
• Communicating daily operational goals and needs effectively to operations personnel and Lead Operator.
• Reporting all spills, near misses, injuries, and property damage to the Lead Operator.

• Demonstrate support of Oil & Gas health, safety and environmental goals to all personnel and contractors on site.
• Adhere to Oil & Gas values – Safety, people, integrity, ownership, responsibility, urgency, innovation, improvement, and teamwork.
• Commitment to an established work schedule, attendance standards and punctuality to work and meetings.
