Job summary

NES Fircroft in Carlsbad, NM, seeks an Equipment Tech to join the Reliability and Maintenance Group. The role bases in the Delaware Basin and includes truck and tools provided, with a focus on maintaining high‑speed compressors and rotating equipment.

You will support safety, environmental compliance and production goals by executing maintenance programs, troubleshooting mechanical issues and managing work orders to maximize uptime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1–3 years of industrial maintenance experience on rotating equipment.
• Experience with high‑speed compressors and engines (500–2500 HP).
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and basic automation/electrical tasks.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Equipment Tech Schedule: 8/6 No man camp or per diem provided. Truck and tools are provided.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Equipment Tech in our Reliability and Maintenance Group. The position will be based in New Mexico Delaware Basin (Carlsbad, NM Area).

Roles & Responsibilities

This position is accountable, cooperatively with other line functions, to meet the goals in Safety, Environmental and Production. Contribution to meet these goals will be achieved by maintaining the workplace in a safe and reliable condition in addition to, but not limited to, the following:

• Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate, as our highest priority.
• Assure compliance to Policy and Procedure expectations/standards (MOC's, PSSR's, Procedures, Audits, etc.).
• Ensure others, including yourself, are respected, supported and encouraged to grow and succeed in their job.
• Execute the high-speed compressor maintenance program and maintenance practices.
• Maintain the assigned tools, equipment and parts inventory to execute the high-speed compressor maintenance program and maintenance practices.
• Manage backlog of work orders to maintain compressor uptime and reliability.
• Provide technical expertise to identify ways to reduce costs and improve process uptime and mechanical reliability.
• Support compression surveillance to maximize uptime and throughput.
• Support OPEX reduction and compression optimization initiatives.
• Responsible for housekeeping and safety in assigned work and areas.
• Upon Supervisory approval, coordinate the use of contract resources to accomplish the Team's mission.
• Cooperate with other company groups to meet business goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Must have valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Minimum of 1-3 years industrial maintenance experience in maintaining and repairing rotating equipment (i.e. Pumps, Compressors, VRUs).
• Experience in maintaining and repairing high-speed compressors and engines in the horsepower range of 500 to 2500 HP.
• Thorough knowledge of oil and gas industry surface equipment types and applications.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform root cause failure analysis.
• Capable of basic troubleshooting of automation and electrical equipment.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Good knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office software.

Safety and Physical Requirements

• This role is occasionally subject to possible hazards (e.g. chemical, extreme heat or cold, exposed heights).
• Ability to travel to all areas in the facility, which may require climbing, ascending and descending stairs, and traveling long distances as required.
• Lifting, carrying, stooping and reaching.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
• Ability to respond to audible and visual alarms.
• Ability to communicate verbally and/or in written form.
