Job summary

A logistics company is seeking a Yard Coordinator to manage the movement and organization of trailers, trucks, and containers within the warehouse yard. This role ensures efficient and safe traffic flow and acts as a communication point between warehouse staff and management. The successful candidate will monitor yard traffic, perform audits, and ensure compliance with safety regulations while supporting continuous improvement efforts. A high school diploma and forklift operation experience are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk in the yard frequently and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to work standing or moving for extended periods.
• Must be able to drive and operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the arrival, staging, and departure of trucks and trailers in the yard.
• Communicate with drivers and warehouse personnel regarding dock assignments and schedules.
• Monitor yard traffic to ensure safe and efficient vehicle movement.
• Perform regular yard audits and inspections to verify trailer locations and conditions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and transportation procedures.
• Report equipment issues, damaged trailers, or safety hazards to management.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to increase yard efficiency and organization.
• Coordinate and implement a 5’s program for the yard.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the arrival, staging, and departure of trucks and trailers in the yard.
