Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking an on-site Facilities Technician to maintain, operate and repair building and utilities equipment, including boilers and medical gas systems. You will inspect and service equipment to ensure reliable operation and a safe environment for care.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include monitoring systems, maintaining cleanliness of the Utility Plant, and supporting department management.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, operates, inspects and repairs building and utilities equipment including high pressure boilers, building management systems, medical gas systems and related equipment as directed by departmental management.
• Ensures the proper operation and maintenance of equipment/systems.
• Ensures all areas of the Utility Plant are kept clean and orderly. Reports condition status of the Utility Plant and related equipment.
• Performs preventative and general maintenance monitors, and recommends materials for common shop supplies.
• Ensures a safe, comfortable and appropriate environment of care by ensuring utilities, medical gases and other services are available.
• Performs related duties as required.
