Job summary

Corning is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead the plant facilities, utilities, and infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable operations and regulatory compliance. You will oversee maintenance programs, capital projects, and contractor management, supporting energy management and sustainability initiatives.

The role partners with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Quality, and Supply Chain to meet manufacturing objectives and drive operational excellence across site infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or related technical discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • 8–10 years of experience in facilities, utilities, maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing operations.
  • Minimum 2 years of second-level leadership experience.
  • Experience managing industrial facilities, utility systems, or infrastructure operations.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, utility systems, environmental requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success leading maintenance, infrastructure, or facilities improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing contractors, service providers, and capital projects.
  • Budget development and management experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a complex manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop facilities, utilities, and maintenance teams responsible for site infrastructure and support systems.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all facility and utility systems.
  • Oversee maintenance, inspection, repair, and continuous improvement of critical utility systems (HVAC, electrical, water, etc.).
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for assets.
  • Monitor performance metrics and drive reliability, efficiency, and cost improvements.
  • Manage facility-related capital projects including renovations and upgrades.
  • Coordinate external contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, building, regulatory and permitting requirements.
  • Develop emergency response and business continuity plans for facilities.
  • Manage facilities budgets, utilities, service contracts, and capital spending.
  • Support site sustainability, energy management, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Quality, and Supply Chain to support manufacturing needs.
  • Establish facility standards, SOPs, and asset management practices.
  • Provide strategic planning for capacity and future growth; present updates to site leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
