Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Tolleson, AZ is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead the plant facilities, utilities, and infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all site support systems. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or related technical discipline.
  • 8-10 years of experience in facilities, utilities, maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing operations.
  • Minimum 2 years of second-level leadership experience.
  • Experience managing industrial facilities, utility systems, or infrastructure operations.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, utility systems, environmental requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success leading maintenance, infrastructure, or facilities improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing contractors, service providers, and capital projects.
  • Budget development and management experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a complex manufacturing environment.

Role Purpose

The Facilities Manager leads the plant facilities, utilities, and infrastructure organization to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all site support systems. This role is responsible for maintaining critical utilities, managing facility maintenance activities, overseeing contractor relationships, supporting regulatory compliance, and executing facility-related capital projects. The Facilities Manager develops and executes long-term strategies that enable operational excellence and support the organization’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop facilities, utilities, and maintenance teams responsible for site infrastructure and support systems.
  • Ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all facility and utility systems supporting plant operations.
  • Oversee maintenance, inspection, repair, and continuous improvement of critical utility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, water systems, wastewater systems, lighting, life safety systems, abatement equipment, and other plant infrastructure.
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility and utility assets.
  • Monitor facility and utility performance metrics and implement improvements to maximize reliability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Manage facility-related capital projects including renovations, expansions, infrastructure improvements, and utility upgrades.
  • Coordinate and oversee external contractors, vendors, consultants, and service providers supporting facility operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, safety, building, regulatory, and permitting requirements.
Key Responsibilities (continued)
  • Develop and maintain emergency response and business continuity plans related to facility and utility systems.
  • Manage facilities budgets, utility expenditures, service contracts, and capital spending.
  • Support site sustainability, energy management, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support manufacturing objectives and facility needs.
  • Establish facility standards, operating procedures, and asset management practices.
  • Provide strategic planning for facility capacity, infrastructure needs, and future business growth.
  • Prepare and present performance updates, capital plans, and facilities recommendations to site leadership.
  • Perform other duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned in support of site and business objectives.

  • Experience leading organizations within a matrixed environment.
  • Proven ability to drive operational excellence through facilities and infrastructure improvements.

The range for this position is $134,504.00 - $184,943.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
