Job description

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division located at 7800 Trade Center Avenue in El Paso is currently seeking a Facilities Technician - Weekend Shift. The hours are Friday through Sunday from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm. The rate for this position is $23.00 per hour. The weekend shift is eligible for 40 hours of pay for 36 hours worked. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Eaton’s PDCA Power Distribution Control Assembly division in El Paso is currently seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance and Facilities Technician will support the OPEX and EHS departments by helping to drive continuous improvement in the electrical assembly operations. This is achieved by maintaining the facility and production equipment in optimal condition, completing preventive maintenance (PMs), and minimizing downtime. The position supports operations and capital assets (equipment, machinery, building, etc.).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment, including lifts, lift tables, cranes, workstations, fans, motors, gates, doors, pumps, pressure vessels.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams such as electrical, hydraulic schematics, and PLCs.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair equipment, identifying root causes across electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC systems.
  • Perform mechanical and general facilities repairs, painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, welding, roofing.
  • Support daily plant operations through effective troubleshooting and repair of Mechanical, Electrical, and Control systems, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Maximize equipment reliability by effectively completing work orders and PMs, and proactively initiating work orders based on observations.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities related to the facility (e.g., 5S+, TPM, Set Up Reduction).
  • Assist with outside contractors on various plant projects and repairs.
  • Use a range of tools from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and testing devices.
  • Complete and maintain maintenance logs and documentation.
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in metal fabrication processes and equipment.
  • Ability to utilize hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the electrical field with voltages from 24V to 480V.
  • At least 1 year of experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Basic computer skills, including Windows-based software.
  • Residence within 50 miles of El Paso, TX; no relocation provided.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance.
  • Experience programming and maintaining Ladder (PLC), HMI, and basic control languages.
  • Strong electrical background.
  • Two-year technical degree or certification in electronics, electrical power and controls, fluid power, HVAC, or PLC programming.
  • Journeyman or equivalent maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
  • Licensed HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrician.
  • Experience in manufacturing or assembly operations.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment and PLC controls.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Additional Information:

Candidate must be able to travel outside the continental US, including Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Canada. Must work safely at heights, with knowledge of OSHA safety standards, and be able to interpret technical documents and schematics. Strong organizational and communication skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with electrical power up to 480V is preferred. Commitment to continuous learning is essential.
