Job Overview

Are you a compassionate caregiver who thrives on bringing comfort and support to those in need? We’re looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant/Certified Medication Technician (CNA/CMT) to join our caring, patient-centered team. In this role, you’ll provide personal care and medication support to hospice patients, respecting their dignity and enhancing their quality of life.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily personal care needs (bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene)
  • Administer medications safely and accurately per established protocols
  • Help with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration
  • Support mobility and range-of-motion exercises
  • Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition
  • Provide companionship, emotional support, and comfort
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment in the patient’s living space
  • Follow care plans created by the hospice team

Requirements
  • Meets the training requirements of the State and holds dual licensure as a CNA and CMT (we will assist with obtaining CMT)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given
  • Understanding of hospice philosophy; comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill
  • Satisfactory references from previous employers
  • Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision; calm demeanor when with patients; secure with issues of death/dying
  • Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired
  • Current CPR certification
  • Tact, patience, and good personal hygiene
  • Attendance at scheduled in-service training programs
Job Limitations

The hospice aide/medication technician will not perform any nursing procedures requiring the training, knowledge, or skills of a licensed nurse, such as sterile techniques or taking physician’s orders.
